You open the DeskPicture control panel by choosing 窶廚ontrol Panels窶 from the Apple menu, then locating and double-clicking the DeskPicture icon.
If this is the first time you have opened the DeskPicture control panel, a message will appear asking you to register your copy. Please take a few seconds to do so.
The control panel displays a proportionally-sized icon for each monitor that is currently active on your system, along with a number indicating its color resolution.

2. Click the icon representing your main monitor.
The menu bar and any items on the desktop disappear, and a control window appears in the middle of the screen. You can move the control window to any position on the screen by dragging its title bar.

3. Click the 窶弃lace...窶 button.
A dialog box opens where you can locate and preview a picture for display. The preview feature is only available when QuickTime 1.5 or later is installed.

4. Locate the 窶廛eskPicture ﾆ停\ folder that was created on your hard disk, then select and open the file named 窶廡avorite Picture窶.
The picture is opened, and partially covers the existing desktop pattern. Notice that 窶徂andles窶 appear around the border of the picture; these allow you to control various aspects of the picture窶冱 size and appearance. The cursor also turns into a hand while it is above the picture to allow you to position the picture anywhere on the screen.
6. Click the close box in the upper left of the control window.
A dialog box appears, asking if you want to save your changes.
7. Click 窶彜ave.窶
The control window closes, and you窶况e returned to the DeskPicture control panel. The picture you selected is now displayed on the desktop, with any desktop items appearing on top of it.
